Purging the CDC vaccine panel

Trump administration removed every member of the CDC vaccine advisory panel

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. dismissed all 17 members of the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices. The action allowed the Trump administration to replace the entire expert panel years earlier than the normal membership rotation would have permitted. Kennedy said the change was intended to restore public trust; vaccine scientists and medical groups criticized it as politicization of the advisory process.
