Policing the Smithsonian
The White House announced a review of selected Smithsonian museums, exhibitions, websites and educational materials. Administration officials said the review would remove what they considered divisive or partisan narratives and emphasize American exceptionalism. The Smithsonian said it would engage constructively while critics raised concerns about political interference in historical interpretation.
