Seizing Venezuela's president
U.S. forces carried out an operation in Venezuela that captured President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, and transported them to the United States to face federal criminal charges. Trump then said the United States would 'run the country' until a transition could be arranged and said major U.S. oil companies would move into Venezuela. The operation prompted international condemnation from several governments and legal questions in the United States.
